Twelfth Night


Avant Cymru (Wales, UK)

Music is the food of love – and we needed to play on. Twelfth Night, never as seen before… Created and performed for the Rhondda Valleys community and to provide much-needed opportunities for theatre freelancers in 2020, marking 35 years since Live Aid. Directed by Matthew Bool and performed by professionals from an area of deprivation, to create opportunities and learning experiences for local actors. Avant Cymru aim to make Shakespeare relevant today. Shakespeare with a Welsh Valleys twist.

    Hydro Jam Digital

    Breakin', rap, experimental dance, beatboxing, ballroom community, art and community: all in one event. Featuring a breakin' battle, a member of UK Breakin', beat box and band shows, rap cyphers with Laryn Entertainment and demonstrations of community activity including the workshops from the Welsh Ballroom Community. A climate-friendly jam, filmed in the Rhondda Valleys South Wales, connecting the hip hop and local communities. Made with Welcome to Our Woods, which provided power generated from streams and converted into electricity by a hydro powerstation. The stage was built from wood and new trees planted.
