Solos in Spaces

Akiko Dance Project (Japan)

When the woman enters each space, the space affects her physical sense. It causes her body to move and pulls her emotions. In the three different spaces the dancer uses her original ideas and body to perform three contrasting solos. In the white classroom she expresses gestures; in the black dark room meditation; and in the space among white objects, the bottom of the sea. Three solo dance works based on Gibson's affordance theory, created and performed by international Japanese choreographer Akiko Ono.
