Tshock Cultura Emocional (Balearic isles, Spain)

From 1519 to 1522 Fernando de Magallanes set off to circumnavigate the
globe. Magallanes succumbed to a poisoned arrow, but his expedition was
successful. This historical science-fiction play explores the first
round-the-world voyage and Ferdinand Magallan’s relationship with
church, state, his co-explorer Juan Sebastián Elcano, and indigenous
people from five continents. During a 500-year confinement, Magellan
strikes up dialogues with Shakespeare, stars and stones in his efforts
to stay sane. He time-travels from evolution to globalisation, forcing
us to ask ourselves exactly what the first circumnavigation of the earth
has brought to us, five hundred years later.
