Dreams of Peace and Freedom: The Human’s in the Telling
English Cabaret in association with C theatre (UK)
The Human's in the Telling follows David Maxwell Fyfe's journey from
Nuremberg, where he was a leading British prosecutor at the War Crimes
Trials, to Strasbourg, where he was a driving force behind the European
Convention on Human Rights. Set in a Sussex forest, a new generation of
Maxwell Fyfe's family explore the significance of the ECHR under the
shadow of pandemic restrictions. Through the landscapes of his life, the
present is filtered through the prism of the past, as they tell the
story of its creation, and how the protection of our rights and freedoms
were forged after WWII.
.
'The Human's in the Telling is a must
for those who want to build a better world' Dominic Grieve
A
companion piece to the staged version of this work, Dreams of Peace and
