Emptiness: Floating Through Molasses
Xiaoyi Tong and Jacob Gale (UK/China)

Sometimes emptiness is a limitation that prevents us from feeling other
possibilities. It could bring peace or stimulate frustration. This
contemporary dance theatre work uses familiar objects like balloons and
string, and abstract physicality to look at the empty space between
existence and nothingness from all sides. Should one adapt to it? Break
it down? Or simply explore. Emptiness is devised and performed by
interdisciplinary choreographer Xiaoyi Tong whose work crosses Chinese
and Western culture, and dancer Jacob Gale.
