Dreams of Peace and Freedom
English Cabaret with C theatre (UK)
Returning to the Edinburgh Fringe as the 75th anniversary of ECHR
approaches, this widely-acclaimed performance with a backdrop of archive
film explores the birth of modern human rights after World War II
through the eyes of Nuremberg prosecutor and ECHR champion, David
Maxwell Fyfe. His words intertwine with Sue Casson’s original and
ethereal musical settings of the poets who inspired him on his journey
along his mythical stream of natural law from Nuremberg to Strasbourg.
One
of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard… Sublime. A secular hymn
for humanity’ (MusicalTalk.com).
‘A very necessary story….
Brilliantly performed’ (Derek Awards).
